DC DC Converters

Today’s modern technology has advanced to the point of precision with various applications that demand reliable power sources. The DC to DC converter has become an integral part of countless industrial and electronic appliances as a device to convert direct current (DC) from one level to another. These converters are reliable and accurate with power ratings ranging from low wattage to kilowatts.

DC to DC converters come in two main types, namely isolated and non-isolated, with the latter type also known as seamless or linear converters. In an isolated type, features such as galvanic isolation between input and output are present, and with non-isolated type, the input voltage and output voltage tend to be much lower than in the case of isolated converters. In linear converters, the output voltage is basically dependent on the range of the input voltage, and also on the current waveform sent to the converter input. The V72A24E400 BF3 is a low cost DC to DC converter with an isolation rating of 400 VDC input to output, allowing it to be used for applications such as automotive, medical and industrial, telecom and consumer electronics. The converter has a base frequency of up to 60 kHz with a maximum power consumption of 4 watts for its high efficiency switching frequency. It also includes an internally regulated feedback voltage for a wide output voltage range and over-temperature protection for which the current limit is adjustable.
