DC-DC converters refer to power conversion devices that convert input DC voltage to output DC voltage, frequency and arbitrarily adjustable. DC-DC converters can be roughly divided into three major categories: switching power converters, linear power converters and resonant (quasi-resonant) converters. The switching power converter is the most widely used one; VE-25T-MV-F4 is one of its types.

Application Field

VE-25T-MV-F4 is a kind of isolated DC-DC converter, which works in fixed regulated 0..25V output voltage range or in proportionally adjustable voltage range 0..25V. It is widely used in industrial process control equipment, distributed power supply systems, medical equipment, radar systems, solar/wind power systems, image processing systems, robotic systems, data acquisition systems, LED lighting control systems, instrumentation systems, power system communications and industrial automation systems.

Working Principle

VE-25T-MV-F4 working principle is based on an isolated DC/DC step-down converter. The working principle is divided into three stages: power supply stage, chopper stage and converter stage.

The power supply stage is composed of rectifier circuit, filter circuit and voltage regulator circuit. The rectifier circuit changes the AC power supply to a DC voltage, and further filtered by the filter to reduce the ripple of the DC voltage. The voltage regulator circuit is to stabilize the DC voltage by comparing the output voltage of the rectifier circuit with the reference voltage.

The chopper stage is composed of a switch tube and a charging circuit. The switch tube is usually composed of a high-power MOSFET, which is used to control the input voltage by the pulse width modulation (PWM) control signal, and convert the input DC into a chopped wave by the frequency modulation (FM) control signal. And the charging circuit is used to control the output voltage to the rated value.

The converter stage is composed of a transformer, rectifier circuit and filter circuit. The transformer is used to couple the chopper stage and converter stage electrically and isolates the two. The rectifier circuit changes the signal of the chopping wave sent from the transformer to a DC voltage. And then the filter circuit further filters the ripple of the DC voltage.

Finally, the output voltage sent out by the converter circuit is stabilized by the voltage regulator circuit. The working process of the VE-25T-MV-F4 is finished.
