DC DC Converters

DC-DC converters play a vital role in power management solutions. These converters are used to transfer DC power between two voltage levels, and to alter the amplitude, frequency, and/or phase of the input voltage. The most common type of DC-DC converter is the switching regulator, which uses transistors or other electronic switches to regulate the flow of current.

VE-26V-EU is a very high power density signal conditioner that converts 24V nominal input voltage to 26V nominal continuous output voltage of 8A. It is designed to achieve power conversion efficiency of greater than 88%.

Working Principle of VE-26V-EU

VE-26V-EU is a DC-DC boost converter with a high power density. It is designed to convert 24V nominal input voltage to 26V nominal continuous output voltage of 8A. It utilizes two power stages which work together to achieve the desired input-output configuration. The first stage is a high frequency, higher power buck converter, which is used to step-down the input voltage. The second stage is a high frequency, low power boost converter, which is used to step-up the output voltage.

The buck-boost converter is comprised of two main components, a power switch and an inductor. When the switch is closed and current flows through the inductor, a magnetic field is produced. This magnetic field is used to store energy, which is then released into the output when the switch is opened. When the switch is open, the energy stored in the inductor is transferred into the output, and the cycle begins again.

The VE-26V-EU is able to maintain a steady output voltage regardless of input voltage fluctuations. It is also able to operate at very high frequencies, allowing for greater power efficiency and better control over the output voltage.
