It is a stand-alone DC DC Converter that uses a high frequency transformer and operates in a voltage range of 48-350Vdc. The converter is capable of delivering an output power of up to 5kW with a minimum efficiency of 90%.The internal design of the VE-B5B-EX DC DC Converter is based on the popular Basic Buck Converter topology, with the addition of a boosting transformer to increase the output voltage range. This means that the system can provide up to 5kW of power, where the range of the output voltage can range from 48-350Vdc. The output voltage is regulated by means of a high frequency Dropping resistor, such that a voltage drop is only created when the output load is low.The working principle of the VE-B5B-EX is based on a buck topology along with the transformer arrangement. The basic concept of a buck converter is that energy from the input voltage is transferred to the load via a series of voltage rectifier circuits. This energy is then further optimized by the use of a voltage regulator circuit. This helps to minimize losses between the input and output of the converter.The voltage regulation of the VE-B5B-EX is based on the concept of a Dropping resistor, a small metal contact that uses Ohm’s law to reduce the output voltage when the load increases. This means that the output voltage always remains within the desired range.
