It also provides protections against short-circuits, open circuits, and over-temperature.The working principle of the VE-BTM-EX converter is based on its two stages - the DC/DC stage and the linear post-regulation stage. In the DC/DC stage, the input voltage is rectified by the rectifier bridge and then filtered to reduce the ripple voltage. The output from the bridge is then converted to the desired output voltage using a DC to DC switching regulator. This regulator is usually a pulse width modulation (PWM) type of regulator in which the voltage is regulated by modulating the width of the pulses. The switching is done at a fixed frequency and the number of pulses is decided based on the input and output voltages and other system requirements.In the second stage, the linear post-regulation stage, the DC/DC output is further filtered for noise and ripple and regulated using an operational amplifier (OP-amp). The OP-amp controls a voltage divider network to set the customized output voltage.
