The VE-J44-CW DC to DC Converter series was developed for reliable operation in demanding working environments. With their wide input, output and ambient temperature ranges, these converters are suitable for use in both industrial and domestic applications. They offer a cost-effective solution for powering system components and are available in a variety of wattages and voltage configurations.

The VE-J44-CW DC to DC Converter series is based on a switch-mode power supply topology which operates without the need of a transformer. This allows the power supply to be exceptionally compact and lightweight for the amount of power transferred. A DC transformer voltage converter module will convert an input DC voltage into an adjustable output DC voltage. It uses an oscillator circuit and transistors as switch elements to convert the input voltage to an output voltage which can be configured within a range of predetermined voltage limits.

The VE-J44-CW DC to DC Converters use several components that interact during the conversion process. First, the input voltage is rectified and smoothed by a rectifier and filter capacitor, as well as an Input Voltage Sense circuit. This yields a steady DC voltage. This is then converted into a pulsed DC current by an oscillator, switching FETs and associated circuitry. This alternating current is then rectified and filtered into a suitable output voltage, determined by its resistive feedback circuit.

To promote energy efficiency, low power consumption and low noise, the switching frequency of the VE-J44-CW series can be adjusted.
