VE-J6T-IY-S Application Field and Working Principle

The VE-J6T-IY-S DC/DC converter is a small, lightweight, and cost-efficient device produced by the company Vicon. It is designed to convert a low-voltage cvage-source dc power input into a higher-voltage regulated dc power output. This multi-voltage converter also features a wide temperature range of 0°C to 80°C, an isolated power supply, and a wide range of inrush currents with an input up to 40A.

The working principle for the VE-J6T-IY-S DC/DC converter is fairly simple. The input voltage is fed through the lower pass transistor (LPT) via a rectifier bridge circuit. This creates a current flow from the rectifier to the inductor on the output. At the same time, the output voltage is stored in the output capacitor. As the output voltage increases the voltage across the inductor increases, thus the current in the inductor also increases.

When the current reaches its maximum it triggers the switch control circuit, which causes the transistor to switch from an “ON” state to an “OFF” state. This creates a rapid fall in the output current, which helps to store energy in the output capacitor. As the current decreases, the switch control circuit triggers the transistor to switch back to an “ON” state. This creates a current flow from the rectifier to the inductor again, thus allowing the process to repeat itself.

The application fields vary for the VE-J6T-IY-S DC/DC converter, depending on the desired output voltage.
