These converters are also used in aerospace, navigation, defence and container applications.VI-21X-IW-F4 series DC-DC converters are designed for both aerospace and industry applications. They are high performance, high power density devices that deliver efficient power conversion in a wide range of input voltage from 8V to 42V. The output voltage is adjustable from 0.8V to 6V. They can deliver up to 20A of continuous current with a power rating of up to 120 W. The working frequency of the converter is up to 1 MHz with a very low noise output.The converter uses a switching topology in which the main switch is controlled by a voltage feedback loop. This feedback loop ensures that the output voltage stays within the required range while minimizing the current draw from the charging voltage source. The output voltage of the converter is adjustable with an on-board resistor or, external voltage signals.In order to reduce the overall power consumption of the system, the converter has a low Voltage drop feature. This feature reduces the power loss during the conversion process by reducing the voltage drop across the devices when the output voltage is above the regulating voltage level.
