DC DC Converters are electronic systems which are used to convert a direct current (DC) from one voltage level to another. The three primary components used in the conversion of DC power are the boost-type regulator (BTN), the error voltage source (EVS), and the switching regulator (SR). The Boost-Type Regulator (BTN) is the most commonly used type of DC-DC converter. It is used to increase the input voltage value to a higher output voltage level. This can be used in situations where the input voltage is too low to meet the requirements of the load being powered. The boost regulator starts by charging the inductor with current from the input voltage source. The Error Voltage Source (EVS) is used to regulate the output voltage level. It is a negative voltage source which helps to limit the output voltage to the required level. It provides a reference voltage which is compared to the output voltage and is then used to adjust the output voltage level.The Switching Regulator (SR) is responsible for controlling the output voltage level. It works by using a set of semiconductor switches to change the duty cycle of the current running through the inductor and capacitor. When the input voltage is higher than the required output voltage, the SR reduces the duty cycle to decrease the output voltage.
