DC-DC converters allow us to convert direct current (DC) from one voltage level to another voltage level. Among them, VI-J5X-MX isolated DC-DC converters are one of the most popular converters.

VI-J5X-MX isolated DC-DC converters are high power, small size converters with a wide input voltage range. They can provide up to 500W of isolated power and have excellent power line transient immunity. The input voltage range is 4.5 to 12.5Vdc, 14 to 40Vdc, 28 to 75Vdc, 50 to 110Vdc and 100 to 250Vdc, and the output voltage can be adjusted from 0.7 to 4.7V, 1 to 8V, 5 to 24V, 11.5 to 33V, or 22 to 65V. VI-J5X-MX converters support very good efficiency, up to 94%. And the input/output isolation voltage is 3KVac/parameter. The operating temperature range is -25℃ to +95℃.

The working principle of VI-J5X-MX Isolated DC-DC Converters is based on the transformer isolation. When the input voltage is higher than the output voltage, an inductor is responsible for reducing the voltage in the transformer secondary and reducing the power output. When the output voltage is higher than the input voltage, a diode will be connected in the secondary of the transformer to provide boosting the power output. By this way, the output voltage is isolated from the power of the input. And by using the reverse connection of the transformer and diode, the electric current can be regulated.
