VI-J60-CY Application Field and Working Principle
The VI-J60-CY DC/DC Converter is a low cost Standard Power Conversion product designed to convert a range of DC input voltages to the desired output voltage. It is typically used in applications like energy harvesting, building automation, office automation and industrial controls where it is necessary for a wide range of voltage regulation. The series provides various options in sizes, shapes and pin layouts. The VI-J60-CY converters are designed to operate in a proximity of the input and the output for better electromagnetic interference (EMI) performance.
The device is designed with a wide range input voltage from 4~18VDC , which can be used for either 3V, 5V and 12V output voltage. The VI-J60-CY converts and regulates DC output voltage using a proprietary switching power supply technology which results in high efficiency, requiring less energy to heat up. The VI-J60-CY is able to maintain a constant output voltage as the input voltage fluctuates, with a maximum peak of +/-3% variation. The device is configured a fixed output voltage, and the switching frequency is optimized for a constant voltage output with fast ramp-up time.
The VI-J60-CY is designed with low quiescent current and low ripple and noise. The quiescent current is only 8.6mA when powered on. The low ripple and noise outputs are achieved by the use of a neat power filter design and an optimized control loop.The converter manages this low level of power noise thanks to its design, the use of PWM circuitry and a comprehensive EMI filter. The regulation of the output voltage is classified as Class II, meaning the output voltage is protected from overload, short circuit, overvoltage and thermal protection.
The VI-J60-CY also employs an active Power Factor Correction (PFC) technology, which enables the device to limit the power factor draw so that less energy is spent in the power lines. This technology is also beneficial for electromagnetic interference (EMI) performance.The active PFC circuit also makes sure that the converter works in a 100~240VAC environment.
The VI-J60-CY provides a comprehensive I/O interface, which supports both user and device level control. The device is compliant with IEC62368-1,UL60950-1 external power supply requirements, and is designed with a built-in EMC filter circuit. This device offers a flexible and reliable solution with optimized power performance, robustness and cost efficiency.
