VI-JNP-EY Application Field and Working PrincipleDC-DC converters are electrical or electronic buck-boost devices used to convert direct supplied voltage from one level to another. The VI-JNP-EY are the most important power supply in communication systems, particularly in high-reliability, high-power applications. It is composed of three elements: the Circulation Board, Power Board and Driver Board. The VI-JNP-EY adjustable DC converter incorporates a modulation scheme, current mode control which is basically a hybrid mode control of pulse width modulation and linear regulator control to ramp up the output voltage and current across the load. The Maintenance Board has three input channels: Output Volume Level (OVL), Output Current Limit (OCL) and Output Voltage Control. The output voltage is maintained by modulating the duty cycle of the power switching device.Overshoot is eliminated and current ripple is minimized, which offers a smooth transition, precision output voltage control, line/load regulation and ripple attenuation.The Power Board consists of the main switch and a synchronous rectification switch. The gate signal applications on both the switches are generated with the help of a leader triangle wave and a variable triangle wave. All the process executions are inspected by sensing the voltage and current levels. The leader triangle wave is also used to modulate the switch turn-on time and prevent them from remaining on for an extended duration. This switch modulation mode helps in controlling the duty cycle of the conversion cycle and thereby outputs a desired PWM signal.The Driver Board is the most important part of the VI-JNP-EY DC converter. It is responsible for the accurate control of output voltage and current. The driver board contains a regulation loop with a loop gain. The loop starts with a current mirror circuit, which is a three-terminal device that mirrors the current at the level of the sense resistor and generates a proportional output voltage V_out. This V_out is then compared to a reference voltage. If the reference voltage and V_out are not equivalent, the PWM signal will be modulated to adjust the duty cycle and output voltage.These two-section architectures of the VI-JNP-EY DC converter enable the voltage level to be regulated accurately in any conditions. Its design provides maximum efficiency and power density, making it made suitable for applications ranging from low-power to medium-power. It is a robust, full-featured solution that provides excellent noise suppression, high-efficiency, low cost, and longterm stability.
