VIM-878-DP-RC-S-HV is an LCD, OLED character and numeric display module that offers users an optical and cost-efficient solution for applications requiring a large display area. The module can be used in a variety of display applications, including mobile devices, automotive applications, medical and industrial equipment, and kiosks/point-of-sale systems.

The VIM-878-DP-RC-S-HV display module consists of a top array of 64x64 dots with 8-bit gray scale, an 8-bit full-color bottom array of 128x128 dots with an improved contrast ratio, a reflective polarizer (with optional sun glare reflector set), a chassis/plastic mounting frame, and a 6 degree viewing angle. In addition, the module is designed to be powered by a 5V DC supply and is optimized for reliable performance in harsh environment applications such as medical and industrial equipment.

The working principle of the VIM-878-DP-RC-S-HV display module is based on light emission from organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). OLEDs are composed of thin layers of organic molecules that emit light when a current is applied. The layer of organic material radiates light on the organic substrate, while the reflective polarizer allows light to be diffused and reflected from the outer edge.
