Fixed Inductors

A fixed inductor is an electronic component that stores magnetic energy. Its main purpose is to add inductance to a circuit, in order to regulate current and/or voltage. Several applications use a fixed inductor, such as power supplies, filters, Voltage Regulators, and Radio Frequency (RF) circuits. Working Principle

Fixed inductors work based on a simple principle. Current flowing through an inductor\'s windings creates a magnetic field, which will induce a voltage across its terminals. The magnitude of this induced voltage can be expressed as V = Ldi/dt, where L is the inductance of the inductor, di is the rate of current change, and dt is the time it takes for the current to change. In simple terms, the induced voltage will be proportional to the rate of current change. Such a relation can be used to regulate the current and/or voltage in complex electronic circuits.

The VLF302512MT-4R7M can store up to 40 mH of inductance, which is enough to provide a sizeable amount of voltage or current regulation for virtually any circuit.
