The VLR-12V is a versatile board-mountable 3-pole rectangular connector with a 5.08mm pitch, commonly used when space is limited. It has a built-in locking device and the terminal screws are M3 size, which makes it an ideal connection solution for a range of applications. This connector features housing sizes ranging from 9 pin to 16 pin, with various wire sizes available.

Working Principle

The patented quick-lock system with its integrated wedge-type retainer ensures a secure connection between the wires and the connector. The locking system can be released quickly without the need of tools, making it an ideal choice for applications requiring repeated connection and disconnection of wires. The terminal screws are secured using the M3 size hexagonal head screws, which provide tight connections to the wires. The housing is designed to withstand temperature variations and is available in fluoride-free, halogen-free, and UL94V-0 varieties.

The VLR-12V connector features a variety of contact designs, with types such as UL listed crimp contacts, semi-soldering contacts, and soldering contacts available. The contact material used for VLR-12V connectors includes phosphor bronze, beryllium copper, and (Pb). The current rating per pin ranges from 1.5A to 4A, with contact resistance of a maximum 30mΩ @ 6V.

The connector housing is made from high-grade polyamide based zinc alloy, which is immune to corrosion and provides excellent EMI protection.The VLR-12V connector is also shielded and features double shielding protection with a combination of 1-piece metal shield and inner shield.
