AC DC Converters

An AC DC Converter is a device that converts alternating current (AC) electrical energy to direct current (DC) electrical energy. The most common type is a step-down, or ‘buck’, converter which reduces an AC voltage to a lower DC level. The AC DC Converter is used in applications such as Solar Power, Electric Vehicle, Industrial, Power Grid, Battery Systems, and other power management applications.

One of the most popular AC DC converters is the VMS-81-30, which is a high-efficiency and adjustable DC/DC converter manufactured by VMS Automation Ltd. It is designed to be used in applications such as solar power, grid-tied and battery back-up systems.

The VMS-81-30 is designed to operate from 9V AC to 160V AC input with a standard output of 24V DC. It offers a high efficiency rating of 81.5%, and has an adjustable output voltage range of 19V to 30V DC, adjustable by a simple potentiometer.
