The VOF-150-5 is an AC/DC converter used in a wide variety of applications. It is a voltage converter that converts an alternate current (AC) input voltage to a direct current (DC) output voltage. This converters can be used in areas such as marine, renewable energy systems, and industrial applications.

The VOF-150-5 uses a temperature- and overload-protected half-bridge configuration with an active snubber circuit, resulting in low switching losses and stable operation. It also features an internal soft start, over voltage protection (OVP) and/or under voltage protection (UVP). The power input range is wide enough to accommodate a variety of low- and high-voltage input systems.

The VOF-150-5 control consists of a frequency/voltage-controlled oscillator, which provides stable regulation over frequency and voltage input ranges. This oscillator is also used to create the DC voltage, which is then applied to an output bridge transformer for converting into DC voltage. In order to regulate the output voltage, the Control circuit has an active snubber network which can detect an over or under voltage and then adjusts the switching frequency accordingly.

The active snubber is a feedback system which senses the output voltage and adjusts the oscillator frequency to maintain a regulated output voltage. This is done by comparing the output voltage to a reference voltage. If the voltage is lower than the reference voltage, the frequency will be increased and, vice versa, if the voltage is higher than the reference voltage, the frequency will be decreased.
