Diodes - Bridge Rectifiers are types of diodes that are used to change alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). A VS-2KBB100R Bridge Rectifier is a distinguished diodes or commonly known as a three-phase full-wave rectifier. It is designed specifically for applications that require high current rating and low voltage drop for a single-phase input and three-phase output. Generally, a VS-2KBB100R Bridge Rectifier module comprises of six diodes, all lined up in a semi-circle around two terminals. The two terminals are divided into two sets, the middle two are the input, while the outside two are the output. These two sets are connected in a certain order to form a Bridge Rectifier. This circuit enables the module to convert AC to pulsating or DC current.To understand how the VS-2KBB100R Bridge Rectifier works, it is important to note that diodes do not allow electricity to flow in both directions. When a diode is forward-biased, then it will allow the current flow in one direction, and when it is reverse-biased, then it will not allow the current flow in either direction. Therefore, in the VS-2KBB100R Bridge Rectifier, the diode and its direction of bias is used to direct the flowing current in the desired output direction.For instance, when the AC voltage is applied to the input terminals of the VS-2KBB100R Bridge Rectifier, then the current flows from the positive side to the negative side. During one cycle of the AC voltage, the alternating current will go through five stages, namely, 0 degrees to 45 degrees, 45 degrees to 315 degrees, 315 degrees to 275 degrees, 275 degrees to 135 degrees and 135 degrees to 90 degrees. At each of these stages, the current flows through one of the diodes that has its anode connected to the positive side and the other diode connected to the negative side. As a result, the current will flow in the desired output direction which is towards the positive terminal.
