VS-GBPC2508A application field and working principle

The VS-GBPC2508A bridge rectifier is designed for applications requiring high power from general purpose DC power supplies, such as electric vehicles and heavy machinery. The two primary components of the VS-GBPC2508A are the two symmetrical arms, consisting of four (4) diodes, and the super large rated current and superior surge capability. This bridge rectifier has a low forward voltage drop, high power efficiency, and a reverse protection guard.

When AC voltage is applied to the VS-GBPC2508A bridge rectifier, current starts to flow through the two arms, which consists of four diodes. During the positive half wave, current will flow from the positive voltage (anode) of one of the two diodes in the two arms to the ground, and during the negative half wave, another current will flow from the other two diodes into the opposite direction. In the end, a unidirectional current is produced.

The VS-GBPC2508A is perfect for larger than usual loads, as it has improved surge capability and a wide operating temperature range from -45°C to +90°C.
