Thyristors - SCRs - Modules - VS-VSKT26/14 application field and working principle

The VS-VSKT26/14 is a complete module system based on two silicon-controlled rectifiers (SCRs) connected in anti-parallel and housed in an insulating case for heat sink mounting. It is used for applications such as motor control, lighting systems and power supplies.

The VS-VSKT26/14 module system has a trigger circuit and dropper resistor to drive up to 4A. It is an ideal solution for controlling AC and DC motors, lighting systems and power supplies. The integrated SCRs and trigger circuit offer low voltage operation, fast turn-on and fast turn-off time for motor speed control, power supply control and other types of light and control applications.

The VS-VSKT26/14 module system works on the principle that two SCRs can be placed in antiparallel, thus offering a bidirectional, thyristor-like device with improved performance under certain conditions. The SCRs are equipped with an integrated triggering circuit and a dropper resistor to provide current to the SCRs, which control the voltage across the two SCRs. This allows the SCRs to turn "on" and "off" in rapid sequence.

When an appropriate trigger voltage is applied to the gate of the SCRs, the SCRs are turned "on" and current flows from the anode of one SCR to its cathode, across the load, and from the cathode of the other SCR to its anode. The current through the SCRs is limited only by the load resistance. When the trigger voltage is removed, the SCRs turn "off" and current stops flowing through the load.

The VS-VSKT26/14 module system is used in a variety of applications such as motor control, lighting systems, and power supplies. It is used to control the speed of motors, cycling a light source on and off, and effectively controlling the power supplied to a device. By using a SCR in the module system, no magnetic components are needed to carry current and therefore dissipate heat. The removal of magnetic cores reduces losses and increases efficiency. The module system is also very reliable, requiring little maintenance.

The VS-VSKT26/14 module system can be used with a variety of AC and DC voltage sources. It provides a system to provide variable current control in applications such as light dimming, motor speed control, and pulse width modulation (PWM). This type of variable current control is possible because the SCRs can be triggered to turn "on" at different times and can also be turned "off" faster than other thyristor devices, which improves speed control performance.

The VS-VSKT26/14 module system is a reliable, practical device for controlling AC or DC devices. Its unique design allows for enhanced control and efficient operation of motor speed control, lighting systems, and power supplies. With an integrated trigger circuit and dropper resistor providing current to the SCRs, the VS-VSKT26/14 module system offers an efficient and reliable solution for a variety of applications.
