Working Principle
The working principle of VSKT 56/06 is based on the semiconductor-controlled rectifier (SCR). It features a control gate which is capable of turning on and off the flow of current through the rectifier. When a control signal is applied to the gate, SCR is turned on and current flows through it. When the control signal is removed the SCR turns off and the current stops flowing.
The VSKT 56/06 is also equipped with bypass diode to avoid over-voltage causd by snubber capacitors. The bypass diode also facilitates a fast turn-off of SCR by supplying the current while the SCR is turning off.
