Circuit Breakers
W51-A122B1-8 Application Field and Working Principle
The W51-A122B1-8 is a circuit breaker with a conventional thermal-magnetic configuration, a current limiting and annular arc extinguishing structure. It is able to interrupt currents up to 8,000A and has a voltage rating of 690V. It is suitable in AC 50/60Hz circuit with current up to 800A, featuring overload, undervoltage and short-circuit protection.
The W51-A122B1-8 circuit breaker consists of a thermal protection unit and a magnetic unit in which an operating mechanism is linked. The operating mechanism connects the circuit breaker and the carrier or the lower part of the circuit breaker. The operating mechanism provides a drive transmission from the handle actuator mounted on the upper part of the circuit breaker to the contacts.
When the current flowing through the circuit breaker is normal and within the rating, the current is transmitted to the coil of a magnetic actuator, generating a closing force to hold the upper and lower contacts of the circuit breaker in the closed position. Should the current flow increase, the expanding heat generated causes the bimetallic strip to bend, ultimately tripping the circuit breaker. The tripping operation rearms the breaker automatically.
When the voltage strength of the power supply changes dramatically, the drop in voltage causes the contacts in the undervoltage device of the thermal protection unit to open. This instantly turns off the magnetic field, resulting in an immediate disconnection of the circuit. Once the power supply is regained, the contacts will return to their original position, thereby allowing the electrical system to reset if the fault is cleared.
The W51-A122B1-8 circuit breaker is primarily used for the protection of internal circuits in a variety of electrical equipment such as lighting, automation systems, air-conditioning, IT, transport, and power plants. This particular type of circuit breaker is also suitable for machines and supports the rapid switching and accurate recovery of electrical circuits. It can also be used in an emergency power supply system with a rated voltage of up to 690V, ensuring enhanced protection and stability.
In conclusion, the W51-A122B1-8 circuit breaker is suitable for a variety of applications, providing reliable protection against overloads and short-circuits in electrical circuits. It is capable of rapidly and accurately disconnecting the circuit when required. Its thermal-magnetic configuration, current limiting and annular arc extinguishing structure ensure enhanced stability and safety of the electrical system.
