The WIG-13279 is an evaluation board dedicated to the evaluation of Texas Instruments’ high-speed current-mode Constant-On-Time (COT) LED drivers. The evaluation board features the LM58600 high-speed, cycle-by-cycle current mode driver for driving high current LEDs for various applications. The LM58600 is a high efficiency, high speed, Constant On-Time (COT) buck-mode LED driver with an internal 200mA adjustable current source, suited for higher current applications. This board is ideal for both prototyping and developing new applications of LED lighting technologies.

The LM58600 is a Constant-On-Time control mode driver which operates in a switching frequency up to 2.2 MHz. It incorporates an internal current source of up to 200mA which can be used as a reference or to drive a small active load such as an LED. The LM58600 also provides several power-saving features such as PWM dimming, voltage scaling, and a dynamic current limit function. The current limit setting can be adjusted via external resistor to match the current requirements of different LEDs.

The WIG-13279 evaluation board includes components necessary to configure the LED driver to the desired specifications. The board includes two sets of terminals which can be used to connect an LED and its ballast resistor configuration, as well as a terminal for connecting the LED common connection. It also includes a screw terminal for connecting a high-power LED source and test points for measuring the current and voltage of the LED.
