When a voltage is applied to the three terminals, one internal resistor is switched on, creating a positive voltage, while the other internal resistor is switched off, creating a negative voltage. The difference between the two voltages, known as the voltage gradient, is measured by the ADC converter, and the output voltage is then adjusted accordingly.
