The XHP-14 is an interconnect system with several benefits for applications ranging from medical, industrial, and consumer, to commercial and automotive uses. It utilizes an innovative design that enables a high density of power pins in a small package, and includes two power and signal contacts with ultra-low insertion force.
Application Field

Working Principle
The XHP-14 interconnect system consists of two contact pieces: a contact pin and a contact sleeve. It uses a unique design that allows for a reliable, one-step mating process. The two contact pieces are inserted into the XHP-14 connector housing, where a thin dielectric layer between the contact pin and the contact sleeve ensures connection.
The contact pin and contact sleeve have a long travel that helps prevent accidental unmating. The contact pin has a metal shield at the head that offers vibration resistance and protection from shock. Additionally, the contact sleeve has an integrated O-ring that prevents dust and dirt from entering the system. This helps keep the contacts clean and provide an additional layer of protection.
The contacts in the XHP-14 system are designed to mate with a receiver’s contacts in two places - the power pins and the signal pins. When the connector is mated, the power pins are connected first and then the signal pins. This ensures that voltage and current travel in opposite directions to facilitate operation of the system.
The XHP-14 system also features a service life of up to five million insertions/removals. This longer life cycle helps reduce downtime and maintenance costs associated with the system. Additionally, XHP-14 connectors are designed for superior performance in extreme conditions, ranging from temperature differences to UV radiation.
