Rectangular Connectors - Housings are a type of electrical connector engineered to provide secure and reliable connections in a broad range of electronic applications. The XHP-9 is an industrial strength rectangular housing connector. It is suitable for use in a range of medium to high voltage, high current applications, including in-plant, industrial and communication industry applications. XHP-9 connectors have outstanding resilience to shock, vibration and temperature variations, making them ideal for harsh environment applications. This type of connector is available with either 10, 20 or 40 pins in the housing, and typically features a current rating of up to 125 Amps.

The contact pins are precisely machined to a high degree of tolerance for a snug fit and a reliable electrical connection. The housing is constructed from high performance materials with high dielectric properties, to provide excellent standing and aging characteristics. This helps to reduce the risk of electrical leakage and corrosion.

This type of connector includes a range of shutout options to limit or prevent accidental contact with exposed pins. The shutout options include latches, mechanically locked lids, and color coded keys to prevent misconnection of components. This is in addition to the safety advantages provided by the robust construction of the housing itself.

The XHP-9 also offers a range of seal option to protect from moisture or dust. This includes grommet seals, or an o-ring seal around the connector body. This is very useful when working in environments with difficult operating conditions, such as extremes of temperature, humidity or dust.

The XHP-9 connector housing also features a range of mounting options. It is available with threaded inserts, or with standard M6 or M4 mounting holes. This makes it suitable for many different panel installation scenarios, providing a secure mounting solution. It is also available with push-on mounting for easy installation in confined spaces. The XHP-9 is also compatible with a range of panel thickness options ranging from 1.2mm up to 6.4mm.
