Working Principle

Y92E-GS08 functions as a protection device by ignoring high current flows and instead drawing lower, controlled electrical current by providing an insulated contact for conducting the electric charge. The device is designed for applications where static is a problem and when spark ignition is a risk. The Y92E-GS08 uses two magnets connected to two separate contact sets. Each of the two magnets is polarized differently and corresponds to an electric current flow direction, either clockwise or counterclockwise. The two contact sets each have an armature plate, a contact spring, and a contact switch. The armature plate presses the contact spring against the contact switch, and when the magnets become properly aligned and magnets interact with electric current the armature plate retracts, thus breaking the contact switch and stopping the electric current flow.
