RF Antennas
An RF antenna, also known as a radio antenna, is a device used to transmit or receive electromagnetic radiation in the radio frequency (RF) range. RF antennas come in a variety of shapes and sizes for applications in telecommunications, broadcasting, electronics, and other wireless technologies.
Y9-11-RTNC-48 application field and working principle
The Y9-11-RTNC-48 antenna is a high gain, omnidirectional, dual-frequency, vertical-polarised antenna. It is designed for applications in the 9-11 GHz frequency range, such as point-to-point communication systems in microwave radio links, aeronautical mobile systems, short-range business and private mobile networks.
The Y9-11-RTNC-48 is equipped with a combination of four linear vertical dipoles. Each dipole is fed with two signals, one for the lower frequency range from 9 to 10.5 GHz and one for the higher frequency range from 10.5 to 11 GHz. The dipoles are arranged in an arrangement of four vertical collinear dipoles, tuned to the designated frequencies. The antenna is designed for dual-frequency applications with vertical polarisation.
The antenna gain of Y9-11-RTNC-48 is up to 19 dBi, which is higher than that of most antennas in the same price range. The antenna’s gain and radiation pattern are very stable in the given frequency range. The temperature range of the antenna is from -40°C to +50°C.
The Y9-11-RTNC-48 antenna connects to the RF source/receiver via an RF cable, either a coaxial cable or waveguide. The 75Ω coaxial cable is recommended for higher power applications. The antenna is usually mounted on flat surfaces such as a wall or roof.
The wide bandwidth and high gain of the Y9-11-RTNC-48 makes it suitable for a variety of applications, such as microwave radio links, aeronautical mobile systems, and short-range business and private mobile networks. The antenna has been designed to work optimally and is easy to install. It is also cost-effective when compared to other antennas in its price category.
