Application Field

A diode, also called silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR), is a solid state electronic component with material made of semiconductor materials. It is mainly used for rectifying alternating current (AC), controlling current, or protecting circuit and electrical equipment. Generally, the silicon-controlled rectifier is a three-terminal device with two terminals for current and one terminal for gate control.The application fields of YR2.DIODE are as follows:

  • power supply rectification field;
  • voltage stabilization and peak clipping field
  • control field;
  • high-voltage circuit protection field;
  • oscillator circuit field.

Working Principle

The working principle of the YR2.DIODE can be divided into three parts: Firstly, when the gate voltage rise ug, the anode current will be intercepted, and the forward direction diode will be blocked, otherwise it won\'t be blocked. Secondly, when the gate voltage is lower than the reverse breakdown voltage ur, the device is in the off-state, and the anode current is blocked. Thirdly, when the gate voltage is higher than the need reverse breakdown voltage ur, the device will soon establish an anode current, and then turn back to forward blocking state if we suddenly cut off the gate voltage.

In conclusion, the working principle of YR2.DIODE is that when the current passes through the anode, the reverse voltage will cause reverse breakdown and the device will be blocked. When the gate voltage reaches a predetermined value, the anode current can be cut off and the device can be blocked.
