ACPL-P347-060E is a type of Isolators - Gate Drivers which is utilized in many industrial applications as it provides the necessary protection and isolation degree for motor control applications. This gate driver integrates an isolated DC-DC converter along with an isolated gate driver which enables versatile applications such as half-bridge, full-bridge or three-phase drive systems, both at high or low frequency.The ACPL-P347-060E provides fast output transitions, high output current, easy-to-follow on-board instructions, low jitter, and the required isolation of 3.75KV. It is built with a robust design to help boost reliability and longevity. It requires a 5V/250mA input voltage to power the isolated DC-DC converter and gate driver, and also has a standby mode which gives very low power consumption when inactive.The ACPL-P347-060E is capable of controlling six device channels and the output logic levels of 0V and 5V are adjustable. It is available with an optically isolated LED which indicates the state of the gate driver and bridging across the isolated side. The ACPL-P347-060E is also equipped with an over-temperature warning and EEPROM memory for storing parameters. The main working principle of ACPL-P347-060E lies in the isolation between the primary and the secondary side. This isolation is achieved by the use of an isolated DC-DC converter. The primary side of the converter consists of a power switch and a transformer while the secondary side comprises an oscillator, rectifier and filters. The ac voltage from the power switch is converted to dc voltage which is then passed through the transformer and filtered into the secondary side of the converter. The output voltage is then regulated by the oscillator, rectifier and filters to achieve the desired dc voltage.In addition to providing the isolation required, the ACPL-P347-060E uses the isolated dc voltage to power the gate driver which then controls the connected device. The output logic levels of the gate driver can be programmed through the on-board instructions. This allows for the control of various devices such as transistors, relays, IGBT and H-bridges.The ACPL-P347-060E is an ideal solution for motor control applications that require fast output transitions, high output current, isolation and reliability. It provides a cost-effective, easy to use solution for controlling multiple devices and is available in a variety of packages.
