SKY13276-334-EVB is a component designed for RF evaluation and development kits, boards in various communication systems. It is equipped with transmit and receive signal paths, employing highly efficient and low power consuming Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) devices, as well as subsystems, to allow rapid and convenient evaluation, development, and production of various Zigbee® and IEEE 802.15.4-compliant transceiver applications.In detail, SKY13276-334-EVB is designed for RF evaluation and development that requires both transmission and reception of signals from a single antenna. It includes an integrated voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO), a frequency synthesizer (FS), and an on-board power source management subsystem. At the core of the system, the VCO is used to generate a precisely tuned oscillating signal that is used to modulate the data that is sent and received. The FS controls the VCO frequency to ensure that the signal is tuned correctly and maintains its accuracy over a wide temperature range. The on-board power source management subsystem makes sure that the power supply remains stable throughout the operation of the system and that the system can operate with minimum power consumption.In transmit mode, SKY13276-334-EVB converts digital information into a frequency-modulated radio signal which is then amplified by the power amplifier and sent to the antenna. On-board signal filter is used to limit the harmonic components and lower the spurious emissions. On-board impedance matching networks are used to match the antenna to the amplifier.In receive mode, the antenna receives an incoming signal which is passed through a low noise amplifier and down-converted to an intermediate frequency (IF) signal. The IF signal is then demodulated to recover the digital information. In addition, SKY13276-334-EVB also features an integrated digital signal processor (DSP). The DSP takes care of the dynamic parameters in the system such as gain and frequency that need to be modified often.
