FLAT FLEX (FF) ribbon cable assemblies are engineered for applications that require flexibility, high speed data transmission, and a reliable and cost-effective approach to product design. Tubular steel-braid construction ensures reliable electrical and mechanical performance over a wide range of operating temperatures and EMI/RFI shielding. Working Principle

Flat Flex Ribbon Jumper Cables work by using flat flexible conductors which have superior high-speed data transmission when compared to conventional round wire. These conductors are arranged in a zig-zag or “flat” configuration which increases the number of conductor paths in a given area and hence increases flexibility. Thanks to the flatness of the strands, they can be manipulated into any shape; this allows them to be routed into tight spaces and around obstacles. The Stranded construction also increases the surface area of the conductors, which helps reduce the EMI/RFI environment, and transmission losses. In addition, braiding over the flat strands provides increased protection against abrasion, and also provides additional EMI/RFI shielding.
