Power line filters are designed to reduce or eliminate interference coming from external sources and are an important consideration for many applications. They can range from basic board-level filters to larger industrial filters designed to filter noise out of the power supply and protect environment-sensitive equipment.
The 03EB11 is a two-stage power line filter module specifically designed to reduce low frequency disturbance of 10kHz to 400kHz in industrial control systems. It features two stages of power line filtering: differential mode for low frequency and common-mode for higher frequency.
In differential mode, a balancing transformer core acts as a noise barrier by blocking any current to enter or leave the primary without passing through the secondary winding. An optional “T” or “Pi” winding can provide additional filtering. Common-mode filters behave similarly and use the same principle, but in addition to blocking the current, their impedance characteristics eliminate high frequency noise.
The 03EB11 can be used to reduce electrical disturbances across a wide range of industrial applications. It is ideal for a number of environments, such as factory automation, robotics, welding, telecommunications, and construction. By utilizing this module in the power line filtering process, high product yields and low noise floor levels are achievable with minimal downtime and cost.
The 03EB11 works by filtering out harmonic signals traveling on the power lines. It does this by means of two filters: a differential-mode filter to reduce the low frequency and a common-mode filter to reduce the higher frequency disturbances. The operating frequency range of the 03EB11 ranges from 10kHz to 400kHz. Above this frequency, the module’s filtering performance decreases significantly.
The 03EB11 power line filter module can be used to reduce power-induced disturbances in industrial control systems. It features two stages of filtering with a differential-mode filter for low frequency and a common-mode filter for high frequency. The module is designed to reduce electromagnetic interference from 10kHz to 400kHz in industrial environments, like factory automation, robotics, welding, telecommunications, and construction. By eliminating harmonic signals on the power lines, high product yields and low noise floor levels are achievable with minimal downtime and cost.
