0434.500NRP is a fusing element classified as a fast-acting fuse. It integrates a special structure to achieve Safe and reliable power distribution in low-voltage power networks. The maximum voltage and current can be provided with contacts of silver-iron, cadmium, chrome, nickel-iron and so on. The design ensures it can provide stable performance even at high temperatures. The 0434.500NRP is used for protection of low-voltage power networks and electrical equipment from the adverse effects of overcurrent, short-circuit and other abnormal conditions.

The 0434.500NRP fuse is composed of two parts, namely the conductor and the protective tube. The conductor is a copper or iron wire with a cross-sectional area that can withstand the current flowing in the power network. The protective tube is made of a special material and is configured in such a way to dissipate the heat generated from digital circuits or machines which can project abnormally onto the power line. When the current passes through the wire, the resistance value in physical properties of conductor generates heat. If the current is too high, the heat generated will become too great, and the fusing element will melt.

The resistance value of the 0434.500NRP is calculated according to the size and material of the conductor. The greater the current flows, the greater the resistance value of the conductor will be. When the current in the circuit exceeds the calculated value, the heat-resistant protective tube will melt. Once it melts, the contact between the two parts will be broken, thus interrupting the current. This malfunctioning of the element is an indicator of a fault on the power line.

The 0434.500NRP is designed to allow sufficient current to flow through until the wiring protection is activated when the current exceeds the set value. The element features a built-in mechanical switch which is activated by an electromagnet. This electromagnet is sensitive to any increase in current flow. When the threshold current value is exceeded, the electromagnet is immediately activated, disconnecting the power from the circuit and tripping the fuse. Since the element does not rely on the fuse to short the circuit when it activates, it reduces the risk of fires and explosions which can be caused by a sudden increase in current.
