Contacts
Contacts are mainly used in low-voltage appliances and new energy vehicles as necessary components, such as automotive electric control systems, instrumentation, elevator control systems, nuclear power systems, etc. Common contact forms include double-break contact, single-break contact, double-make contact, single-make contact, and combination of the above-mentioned types.
Contacts are divided into two categories: dry contacts and wet contacts. Dry contacts are mainly used as depowered control switches. The wet contact mechanism consists of a contact point and an arc suppressor, and has a difference in insulation capacity but still touches the two contact points to complete a circuit. The contact of the contacts material is mostly characterized by silver and gold.
Spring Loaded and Pressure
The spring-loaded type is mainly used to realize the electrical connection in the microelectric circuit. The contact material is usually the fine silver which is plated onto the terminal as a whole to increase the hardness and prevent oxidation. It belongs to a kind of changeover switch which can finish the connection and disconnection without extra power. It usually equipped in the circuit board to support the pressure in the switch.
The working principle of the pressure type contact switch is that when the pressure is applied, the contact point is bent and the circuit is connected, and when the pressure is released, the contact point is separated, and the circuit is broken. Its advantage is the low connection resistance, the contact surface does not spark and ionize, the service life is long, the power switch stabilizes, and the performance is superior.
