It is not suitable for interrupting critical circuits, direct current applications and high frequency systems.The 0CCK100.V fuse is composed of a cylindrical body, a core holder and a silver conductor filled with high temperature arc suppressor material. It’s rated current is 100A and its rated voltage is 1000V. The melt point of the fuse is designed to be 20% over nominal current rating, meaning the 0CCK100.V fuse has an approximate melt point of 120A. The total thermal time-lag time-current characteristics is 1 second or less at 1000A and the total clearing time-current characteristic circuit is 0.3 second or less at 1000A. The fuse also features independent positive contacts for long, uninterrupted connection in hazardous conditions.In order to understand the 0CCK100.V fuse working principle, it is helpful to look at thermal lag and current clearing time-current characteristics. Thermal lag time-current characteristic refers to the theoretical relationship between the current flow in the fuse and the associated time to blow as a result of the thermal effect. The total current-lag time is determined by the fuse characteristics and the volume of conduction material.Current-clearing time-current characteristics considers the speed at which the melting terminal either melts or vaporizes. This combination of melting arc and heat created from the current flow will expand and clear the terminal to cause the desired electrical interruption. The total interrupting time is usually determined by the extent of molten material and is usually less than 1 second.The working principle of the 0CCK100.V fuse is based on this combination of thermal-lag and current-clearing characteristics. The rated current is at or below 120A and the fuse opens in a short interval of time due to the large impulses of current or by slowly increasing current. When the total current exceeds the rated current, the 0CCK100.V fuse will protect the system from overheating, thus keeping it functioning at its optimal level.
