PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) Resettable Fuses, or Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient devices, are electronic devices that are designed to protect electronics from short-circuits and overheating. In the event of an overcurrent event, the PTC Resettable Fuse will open and prevent further flow of electricity through the circuit.
