RFI and EMI - Shielding and Absorbing Materials(RFMEM) are used to protect electronic and electrical equipment from damaging electromagnetic fields or waves. The intention of any RF shielding and/or absorbing material or component is to meet the requirements of the standard in which it is being used, by preventing transmission of RF energy from the equipment being protected, or through the shield, as well as to minimize the absorption of RF energy by the material itself. The 1-5-CN4490 shielding material is used to shield electronic components and circuits from RF interference. This material is highly effective and is often used in aerospace and medical applications.

1-5-CN4490 shielding material is composed of silver-plated aluminum/magnesium foil composite backed with a non-conductive acrylic adhesive. This combination provides an effective barrier against RF signals in the frequency range of 1MHz to 18GHz.
