The 102285-1 rectangular connector is designed with two dielectric shells, with the box shell spanning the full vertical section and the plug shell spanning the full horizontal section. These two contact shells are wired together with wire assemblies which contains an assembly comprising multi-stranded wires, wires connected to the contact nozzle, and elastic bands. This assembly is then secured in the box shell and the plug shell and then sealed with a guide to ensure that the wire assembly is positively retained in the contact shells and free of any short circuits or misalignment of contacts.
