Incandescents

An incandescent lamp or bulb is a device that uses electric current to generate light by heating a metal filament, usually made of tungsten, until it is white hot. A thin mantle of sintered magnesium oxide, or a molybdenum foil as a ribbed dome, is supported on a pin at the center of the lamp and surrounds the filament. The heat of the filament evaporates the tungsten from the wire, the rate of evaporation being greatest near the center where the heat is greatest. After the filament has cooled down, the entire assembly is again placed in an atmosphere of inert gas, usually nitrogen.

Neons

A neon lamp is a gas discharge lamp, a type of electrical lamp which produces light by sending an electrical discharge through a tube filled with neon gas. It consists of a sealed tube filled with a small amount of rarefied gas, typically argon or xenon, with electrodes at either end. An electric current is applied to the electrodes, resulting in electrical discharges that jump from one electrode to the other, producing a bright orange-red light. In its most basic form, a neon lamp is a glass tube containing a gas and two metal electrodes, connected to a power source.

1080 application field and working principle

1080 is a high definition digital video standard created by the Blu-ray Disc Association and approved by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). It is the successor to the 720p standard used by the HD-DVD and Blu-ray formats. 1080 is four times better resolution than 720 and provides for a much higher quality image. 1080 is also known as Full High-Definition (FHD) or Ultra High Definition (UHD).

The 1080 standard defines a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels in a 16:9 aspect ratio, referred to as 1080P. This resolution is the same as featured on today’s home theater systems, digital television sets, and movie theaters. A 1080P television or monitor requires a high-end graphic card or processor to support this resolution. 1080 can also be used in video recording, such as with an HD video camera or a camcorder. In addition, 1080 is often used for gaming on Xbox and Playstation consoles.

The working principle of 1080 is simple. It is a digital signal that is transmitted over a high-definition cable in a particular resolution with a predefined number of lines per frame. The signal is converted into an analog signal by a broadcasting device, such as a television or monitor, and then it is displayed on the screen. This signal must be compatible with the receiving device for it to be displayed properly. The 1080 signal is designed to produce a sharper and clearer image than the traditional analog signals.
