Multiple Conductor Cables are wide-spread in many industries due to their convenience and versatility. 1299/40C SL002 are a type of multiple conductor cables that have been designed to meet the requirements of audio installation, broadcast and video engineering systems. The 1299/40C SL002 cables are constructed with an overall jacket which consists of a gas-injected polyethylene (PE) compound surrounding the core conductors. The conductors are then twisted together with an external shield layer which protects the cable against EMI and RFI interference. The attachable de-pin plug or jack with plated IDC compatible contacts, adds additional resistance to moisture and corrosion.

The 1299/40C SL002 is constructed with a total of 18 colour-coded conductors which are 29/0.18mm CCA strands, with a maximum frequency rating of 600 MHz. The design of the cable also allows up to 8 additional field termination points for a system which requires increased pin/socket connections. The minimum static bend radius of the 1299/40C SL002 is 40mm, making it very convenient for installations in tight spaces.

The 1299/40C SL002 is equipped with an outer jacket that meets the requirements of the UL20276 specification for electronic control cables. This cable meets the flame retardant requirements of UL 1581/CSA C22.2 No. 002-M1989, and is rated for up to 300V DC. The jacket also provides protection against UV and ozone, providing an extended useful life.

The 1299/40C SL002 also features drainage poles to minimize the risk of electrical shorts. The cable also meets the criteria of CEI 11-16/17-7 (Class 5) and DIN VDE 0207-8 (Class 7) for flexibility and tensile strength. The highest degree of shielding protection against EMI and RFI interference is provided by a single-layer aluminum foil screen.
