Tantalum capacitors are electrochemical capacitors in which tantalum oxide is the anode and the cathode is formed by depositing low resistance and solid electrolytic oxide on an electrolytic tantalum powder core. Generally, it is a type of capacitor which uses tantalum as an anode, and a vacuum-deposited film as a dielectric.
