By analyzing those signal strengths, the receiver can precisely compute the coordinates of the target.​ The receiver on 1301020021 is made up of satellite antenna, signal processor and core processor. The satellite antenna can receive broadcast GPS signals from the satellite. The signal processor also known as the demodulator decodes and compresses the signal from the satellite. The core processor further calibrates, compares and decides which signal to use for positioning. The decision is based on rate of change of signal strength of each satellite.​ The transmitter on 1301020021 is mainly responsible for sending the signals of the receiver back to the central server for tracking. It works by encoding the information, such as time, location and velocity, into a digital packet.
