Working Principle

1301720579 works on the principle of differentiating between the phase and neutral currents. This system operates on two different conditions. In case of normal operation, where no ground faults occur, the phase and neutral have the same current values. On the other hand when a single phase to ground faults occur, the phase current equals the sum of the phase-neutral and fault current and the neutral current is equal to the fault current.

During fault conditions, the ground fault protection system identifies the ground fault and determines whether it is a fault or permanent ground fault based on the time delay set by the user. f the current remains above the threshold level for the preset delay time, then the fault is considered as a permanent ground fault and the ground fault protection system triggers the external relay or contactor to turn off the power supply. It simultaneously sends a signal to the operator to take corrective action.
