Ring Connectors or terminals are electrical connected conductors. They’re the most common type of electrical connector and are used for joining multiple electrical devices. The 130417 Application Field and Working Principle

The 130417 ring connector, developed by Phoenix Contact, is a four-way, solderable signal and power terminal for PCB applications. This terminal is equipped with four nickel-plated brass insert channels which provide quick and easy assembly and a secure connection. The terminal is rated for up to 6A and 240V, and offers a raised hook-shaped connection point for connection to base plates. This connection is capable of carrying high current and is temperature resistant, making it ideal for industrial installations and control circuits. The terminal also comes with a snap-in fixing lance, allowing it to be secured to the board, saving valuable time during installation.

The working principle of the 130417 ring connector involves the use of contact springs. The contact spring is fitted into the contact channel of the connector, which is then soldered to the board before the assembling of the connector is completed. The contact spring presses down on the contact carrier, ensuring the connection is made between the contact spring and the connector’s contact. The connection created is a low-resistance path, allowing current to flow from one side to the other. This connection point is also temperature resistant, so it can be used in a variety of applications, including high power applications.
