This involves the insertion of a two- or three-conductor wire into the terminal block and a set screw or threaded stud is tightened to make the connection. This type of terminal block is most commonly used when there is a need to make a secure connection, and when the connection needs to be reversible.Terminal blocks are also available with a wide variety of electronic protection features. These features can provide additional safety and reliability, especially in industrial applications. The most common are: an anti-short circuit feature, an overload protection circuit, and a surge protection circuit.
