It can operate in temperatures ranging from -65 to +150°C and is suitable for a broad range of applications including wireless communications, computer peripherals, consumer applications and automotive applications.

The 16CTQ100-1 device is based on a diodes’ electrothermal transducer technology, which enables the device to produce precise electrical signals from one or two diodes. The two common cathode junctions are connected through a common center lead resistor so that a bias current is produced when a voltage is applied. The applied voltage represents the "logic" level, while the current through the resistor represents the signal\'s amplitude. This device is able to produce precise local current when the center lead is gated. The resulting alternating current will then be rectified to a constant direct current by a bridge rectifier.
