In addition, the user should always ensure that the connector that they are using is rated for the voltage and amperage of the wire that is being connected. It is also important to ensure that the proper amount of crimp pressure is applied to the connection. Too little pressure will result in an insecure connection that may come apart, while too much pressure can crush the wires and cause short circuits.
