Incandescents:

The incandescent lamp is the simplest and most common form of electric lighting. It consists of a small metal filament, usually made of tungsten, suspended in a small glass dome filled with an inert gas such as nitrogen or argon. When electricity passes through the filament, it is heated to a very high temperature, emitting a brilliant white light in the process. Because of its relatively low cost and simplicity, the incandescent lamp still remains the most commonly used form of electric lighting.

Neons:

Neon lights are another type of electric lighting that have been in use since the late 1800s. Named after their discoverer Georges Claude, they consist of a glass tube that has been filled with a small amount of neon gas. When an electric current passes through the gas, it produces a brilliant orange-red glow. Neons are widely used for outdoor display and advertisement, thanks to their strong penetrating power and their ability to be seen from far away.
