Fixed Inductors

Fixed induction coils, also known as 1945-17J inductors, are used in applications where a specific voltage or current in electronic systems needs to be filtered or stored in a limited capacity. Fixed inductors feature a wound coil of wire or metal oxide ceramic along with a specific capacitor to control the transfer of electricity. The basic principle behind a fixed inductor is that it stores a magnetic field and, when current is applied, the inductor transfers the electrical energy into a magnetic field. When the electric current is removed, the inductor releases the stored energy back into the circuit as an electric current.

Fixed inductors are most commonly used in high voltage application fields. They are used to filter out electrical spikes or noise from DC circuit systems. Some of the other common uses of fixed inductors include the filtering of radio frequency (RF) signals, the reduction of high frequency noise and the protection against the overvoltage. These inductors also find use in automotive and medical applications.

There are several different types and designs of 1945-17J fixed inductors available in the market. Some of the most commonly used types include air core inductors, ferrite core inductors, powdered iron core inductors and electrostatic inductors. Each type has its own working principles and is used depending on the application.

Air core inductors are the simplest and cheapest of all the designs. They are composed of a single coil of insulated wire wound in air without any external or internal core material. They have low inductance and can be used in low frequencies. Ferrite core inductors are made of a principle of a ceramic core material with a low resistance, high impedance and high temperature resistance properties. Powdered iron core inductors are designed with a powdered iron core material, which has a higher inductance than air core inductors. They are best used in medium to high frequencies. Lastly, electrostatic inductors are composed of capacitors and resistors connected in series, which converts electrical energy into magnetism.

No matter what type of inductor is being used, its basic principle is the same. Fixed inductors store a magnetic field and transfer electricity in the form of a magnetic field.
